Hello hello, fellow learners of English, how are you doing out there? This is Kristian here, nice to be with you again, and welcome to the Learners of English Podcast, episode number 11.
This is going to be a short episode. Nevertheless, I’m super excited about this one, because I’m gonna make a very important announcement. A VIA.
So far, I’ve been talking mostly about motivation. About things like creating the right mindset, building effective habits, why complaining is your worst enemy, how to start improving yourself, and of course, the 4 Ps: priorities, practice, patience and progress.
If you’ve listened to these episodes, then you know how I think about learning English, learning a new language, or learning something new in general.
And then you also know, that I’m a strong believer in daily practice. Practicing 10 minutes per day beats a 60-minute session per week. No question. If you practice frequently, let’s say 5 days per week, you’ll memorize words and phrases much faster.
But I’ve noticed that most of my students don’t do this. And quite frankly, I think this is the number one problem you need to solve if you want to become a successful learner of English.
If you recognize this problem, then I’ve got a very important announcement for you:
I’m going to help you practice English 5 days per week. That’s why today I’m introducing the new format of this podcast to all of you.
As of now I’m going to publish 5 days per week a 7-minute episode. In these episodes I will teach you some English, but more importantly, I’ll teach you how to teach yourself some English.
Remember the proverb:
Give a woman a fish and you feed her for a day; teach a woman to fish and you feed her for a lifetime.
It is more worthwhile to teach someone to do something (for themselves) than to do it for them (on an ongoing basis).
What can you expect? Lots of English language topics mixed with advice on how to study these topics on your own. Episode 10 is a good example. If you haven’t checked that one out yet, then please do. It’s 24 minutes long, so longer than the 7-minute format, but the content provides a good example of how I’m gonna help you become a successful learner of English.
Now, I want to be completely honest with you: everything I’m gonna tell you in my podcast, you can find somewhere on the internet. There are no secrets in English language learning and there are no secrets in the self-improvement industry.
The big difference that I want to make, is that I want to give you a ridiculously easy opportunity to make English learning part of your daily life. Even if it’s only for 7 minutes per day.
All I’m asking from you is that you subscribe to my podcast at no cost, and in return I’ll help you to become a successful learner of English.
That’s a great deal, right?
